USB With USB, a new device can be added to your computer without having to add an adapter card or even having to turn the computer off. The USB specification provides a 5 V supply on a single wire from which connected USB devices may draw power. USB supports three data rates. 1. A Low Speed rate of
1.5 Mbit/s that is mostly used for keyboards, mouse, and joysticks. The USB-IF certifies devices and provides licenses to use special marketing logos for either "Basic-Speed" (low and full) or High-Speed.
