Launches The INFINITY nF Ultra-II-M2—DFI’s First AM2 Motherboard With DDR2
Support Taipei, Taiwan – July 6,
2006
DFI today
announced the release of its first AM2 solution, the INFINITY nF
Ultra-II-M2 motherboard. Based on the latest AM2 technology and support
for the fastest DDR2 memory, DFI brings to market a solution that exceeds
the existing socket 939 solutions.
NVIDIA
nForce4 TM Ultra chipset DFI Infinity nF Ultra-II-M2 motherboard
uses the unique NVIDIA single-chip solution featuring low latency
architecture with support for PCI Express, secure high-speed networking,
and high-performance storage. Referred by NVIDIA as "the industry's best
core logic solution," the nForce4 Ultra chipset ensures that the PC stays
ready for the newest games, future applications, and next-generation PC
specifications.
Support for
DDR2 Initially, critics were skeptical of DDR2's superiority over DDR.
But studies now reveal that DDR2 offers better speed at high frequencies
and extremely low timings. In addition, DDR2 technology has lower power
consumption and simplified motherboard wiring. Coupled with memory
controllers on the AM2 CPUs, the INFINITY nF Ultra-II-M2 motherboard
offers greater bandwidth with DDR2 modules. DFI Infinity nF Ultra-II-M2
motherboard uses 128-bit dual-channel architecture and comes with four
DDR2 240-pin DIMM sockets for a maximum of
4GB.
State-of-the-art audio The DFI Infinity nF the Ultra-II-M2
motherboard uses Realtek ALC850 8CH audio card. The motherboard comes with
six audio jacks on the back of the motherboard. In addition, it offers
support for S/PDIF in/out ports for users to enjoy multiple audio
equipments all at once.
Abundant
on-board fan connectors Overclocking generates a lot of heat on the
motherboard. Therefore, the Infinity nF the Ultra-II-M2 motherboard offers
5 onboard fan connectors, including one 4-pin FAN connectors for the CPU
and two 3-pin FAN for the chipset and chassis to dissipate the
heat.
The famous
DFI Genie BIOS DFI Infinity nF the Ultra-II-M2 motherboard comes with
the famous DFI Genie BIOS. Via the Genie BIOS, users can easily tweak and
adjust the voltage for a variety of components, such as the CPU, memory,
and Southbridge. Furthermore, the Genie BIOS offers up to 50 different
settings for on function alone, ensuring that users can customize the
board to their satisfaction.
Cool 'n'
Quiet technology With the AMD Cool 'n' the Quiet technology, users can
enjoy a quieter system with a CPU that consumes less
electricity.
RAID
function RAID affects the hard disk speed and performance. Furthermore,
time is critical in PC games and DVD playback. Hence, DFI Infinity nF the
Ultra-II-M2 motherboard is equipped with four SATA ports with speeds up to
3Gb/s to offer fast transition between image-demanding RPG games and large
capacity DVD files. The Infinity nF the Ultra-II-M2 motherboard supports
RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 01 and JBOD.
Main
features of the DFI INFINITY nF Ultra-II-M2
include:
* Support for AM2 CPU and NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra
chipset * Support for 4 DDR2 DIMM
slots * Support for 2 PCI-E x16 slots, 1 PCI-E x1
slot, and 3 PCIs * Support for 10 USB 2.0
ports * Support for 1 24-pin ATX power connector, 1
4-pin ATX 12v power connector, and 1 4-pin 5v/12v
connector
